Hipólito Fernández Serrano, aka Poli (born 20 March 1977 in Seville, Andalusia), is a retired Spanish footballer who played as a left defender.
After making his professional debuts with CF Extremadura in Segunda División, Poli moved in 2002, alongside teammate David Cortés, to RCD Mallorca, where they were the starting fullbacks during three seasons.
In 2005–06, he moved to Deportivo Alavés, with little individual (nine league matches) and team (relegation) success. In the following season, Poli joined Recreativo de Huelva, freshly promoted to La Liga.
With the Andalusians, he was used mostly as a backup (although he started in the vast majority he played in), helping Recre to three consecutive top flight seasons, with relegation befalling in 2008–09. Subsequently, he appeared sparingly, due to injury problems, retiring in June 2011 at the age of 34 (he only played in two league games in his last year).
